Relax Deeply Through Restorative Yoga
6-7:15 p.m. Friday, October 1st
$25
Class limited to 6 participants
Pre-registration required
Restorative Yoga is about being rather than doing. It is less about doing and more about undoing.
We take the basic relaxation pose (Savasana) and modify it with props (blankets, pillows, bolsters, etc.) to allow the body to effortlessly relax and restore the immune system. We allow the spine to be supported in various positions. This is a fantastic and easy way to get ready for winter. When your mind and body are relaxed and restored, you are much stronger and can much more easily ward off the threat of invasion by viruses and cold germs.
Come get healthier by relaxing more!

Pranayama Workshop
with Jared Hirsch
1-4 p.m. Sunday, October 17th
$35 prepaid $40 on 10/17
Simply stated Pranayama is the control or movement of life force (prana). Pranayama, as it relates to the texts and practices
of Hatha Yoga, is the consideration of specialized breathing exercises. This practice is a means of purifying the subtle
energies that underlie the physical structure. It not only builds the breath capacity, but also vitalizes the whole system.
Asanas or Yoga postures, by many, are considered the root of Hatha Yoga. Yoga postures allow for prana to move more
freely. While these techniques utilize the control of the auxiliary muscles of respiration, perhaps more importantly,
Pranayama allows you to identify subtle contractions in the mind-body and as a result release them from their root.
Jared has designed a special practice that will lead you more deeply into this breath-centered experience. This workshop will
address the use of inhalation and exhalation, the use and difference between retentions of breath and pauses of breath and
the various forms of inhale and exhale. Some of the practices that will help us understand these principles are ujjayi, viloma,
anuloma, nadi shodhana, and bhramari. This workshop promises the richness available to you from participating intimately
with your conscious breath.
“Breath is central to Yoga because it is central to life
….and Yoga is about life.” -T. Krishnamacharya
